Trademark Infringement 101: Dismantling a Big-Money Bully

Batman Slap

So, in case you guys didn’t notice, it’s been a while since my last post, for which I would apologize, if I weren’t busy obliterating a Big-Money Bully trying to take down one of my most popular Apps from the iTunes Apps Store, on the basis that I was somehow infringing upon his trademark, to which I say: NIGGA, PLEASE!

In this blog post, I would like to share some excerpts of my email exchange with said bully and Apple’s Legal Team, and my hope is that if any of you come across a similar situation, you can use some of what I did to bitch-slap the bully trying to take your bread-and-butter away from you. Of course, every situation is different, but the core principles still apply. Plus, you won’t have to spend thousands of dollars on mothafuckin Lawyers and their “Billable Hours”.

Trending Now: #RIPTwitter – The Age of Algorithms

RIP Twitter - Facepalm

If you haven’t already heard, Twitter died last night in a horrific train wreck brought about by the deadly head-on collision between overzealous corporate strategy and the wants of the average consumer. Beginning next week, Twitter will start rolling out some MAJOR changes to its platform, a large part of which will include Predictor Algorithms, whose primary purpose is to deconstruct user behavior patterns, and arrange the user’s Twitter Timeline in a priority based format, as opposed to the current real-time chronological format. Essentially, Twitter’s Algorithms will now decide what you, the user, like/dislike, and serve up content to you based on that criteria, instead of the usual real-time tweets. That’s fucking BULLSHIT! No wonder everyone on Twitter is fucking outraged by this new ass-fuckery, which in turn has caused the hashtag – #RIPTwitter – to be the No. 1 trending topic on Twitter for the past 30+ Hours. The whole reason why people use Twitter is for the rapid-fire real-time updates/Tweets. When you take that model and turn it upside down, what you get is fucking Facebook and it’s fucking ‘Top News Stories’ Algorithms deciding what content is appropriate for you and what content should be discarded from your Timeline.

Windows 10 Might Be The Greatest Operating System (OS) of All Time!

Windows 10 Screenshot

I’m a born and bred Microsoft guy: a hardcore loyalist and an occasional apologist. But despite my blind loyalty, even I couldn’t defend Microsoft’s retarded-ass decision to do a complete revamp of the OS and shove Windows 8 down everyone’s throat. In my opinion, Windows 8 was an OS designed specifically for people with the cognitive abilities of a demented circus and the depth perception of an earthworm. It was one of the worst fucking Operating System’s I’d ever used. Just aaahhhhhh!!!! Thankfully though, Microsoft atoned itself and washed away its sins with the Windows 10 OS, which is my opinion is the greatest operating system I’ve ever used. Just simply fucking fantabulous. My Smartphone Gave Me A Concussion

Football Concussion

So, here I was going about my daily business, staring at computer screens for hours at a time, watching flashing red and green lights, waiting for a signal, or to put it more aptly, for an opportunity to pounce on, all the while marveling at the irresistible power of capitalism, trying to soak it all in, and suddenly, I felt this sharp pain stabbing at the back of my right eye, like someone trying to push my eyeball with an icepick from the inside out; following that, I felt discombobulated and a strong sense of confusion that I’d never experienced before. This whole incident lasted for about 2 mins, and left me with a feeling of “Dude, there’s something seriously wrong with you man. You need to call your doc and get checked up ASAP.” I did just that and scheduled the earliest appointment with my doctor, who after thorough examination, concluded that my symptoms where similar to those of someone suffering from a head trauma or a concussion. It’s been eons since I last played any form of physical contact sport, which rendered his whole diagnosis incorrect. After going over a list of a zillion different causes, he asked me whether I was a smartphone junkie, to which I replied “Hell yeah I am!” To which he replied, “Aah, and therein lies your problem.” According to him, repeated use of smartphone for reading purposes .i.e. Texts, Emails, Articles, etc… can put serious stress on your eyes and your brain, and lead some serious complications, one of which is concussion like symptoms.

YouTube Beta Testing New Ad Platform

YouTube Logo

Alright, so here I was expecting to the new trailer of The Avengers: Age of Ultron, and outta nowhere, despite having AdBlock Plus installed on my Chrome Browser, which by the way blocks just about every possible Ad format that there is – popup or otherwise – was rendered worthless when I was shown a video Ad by YouTube in a format I’ve never seen before. The Ad appeared to be attached to/part of the video. At first I didn’t know WTH was going on, and later thought that maybe Marvel attached the video commercial to the Avengers Trailer just as part of their revenue boosting strategy. But when I refreshed the page, the commercial was GONE! It was very bizarre, and for the first time in a very very very long time, AdBlock Plus failed to block the YouTube Ad. So, like a good netizen and a certified free-thinker that I am, I did some digging around and surprisingly I wasn’t able to find much information on this; which leads me to conclude that YouTube possibly might be beta testing a new Ad Format that even a powerful tool like AdBlock Plus cannot block.

Is Social Media To Blame For The Recent Rise In Social and Political Unrest?

Social Media

Given the events that are taking place around the world, I believe it is a fair question to ask. Prior to Facebook, Twitter, and other social media platforms, historically, if one were to look at the number of instances of Social Unrest/Mass Protests, one would notice that the actual number of these instances was pretty low. But since the advent of Social Media and its widespread usage, it seems like every other day people are protesting about something that they believe is wrong with the world we live in; and before you jump on me and bust my balls, NO, I’m not being sarcastic – I’m just stating the facts as I see them.

The Fappening – How Safe Is The Cloud?

The Fappening

DAYUM!!!!

I’m feeling so STUPID right now. Just last week I wrote a post on the Best Cloud Hosting Services, in which I raved about how “Safe” the Cloud is, and why everyone should use the cloud to store their personal and private information, so that they can access it from anywhere in the world. Little did I know that The Internet had other plans; as I was gushing and gloating about The Cloud and 256-Bit Encryption and all kinds of other awesome S**T, the internet was laughing at me like I just peed myself on the stage while wearing Khakis. If you haven’t heard yet, something really really really Bad/Good happened on August 31st 2014 – something that’ll change the course of human history forever. August 31st 2014 will forever be remembered as – The Fappening.
